Windsurfing: Traigh Lingeigh (North Uist) Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 18 knots Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 14ºC Sea Temperature: 13ºC Weather: Sunny spells Max Speed: Distance Covered:
After a morning on the water I had some food and coffee and then the wind
seemed to fill in a bit more so off I went windsurfing again. After
blasting about Lingeigh Bay nicely powered up for a while I sailed upwind
to Traigh Hornais; another long sweeping beach of pire white sands, blue
water and sand-dunes in the background. I was going to sail around the
other side of Lingeigh Island and then back to Lingeigh via yet another
beach, but my board was feeling a little worse for wear so i decided
against it. I could feel and hear the underside of the board flexing and
warping, and once back to Lingeigh, on inspection the whole nderside was
completed delaminated with a good 2 inches of play betweent he skin and the
foam. Several cracks had also developed in the skin that stretched across
the width of the board. Oh well, another board to sacrifice to the wind
gods.
All in all a lovely session well powered up in a cool setting.
